About Word Guess

A five-letter guessing puzzle rewards information over instinct. Your first two guesses should cover ten different common letters rather than chasing a hunch, because eliminating letters narrows the field faster than a lucky partial match.

Openers built from frequent letters — vowels plus R, S, T, L and N — tend to leave only a handful of candidates by the third row. Keep an eye on amber letters: knowing a letter is present but in the wrong position is often the strongest clue on the board.
