About Binary Translator

Computers store every character as a number, and binary is those numbers written in base 2. The letter A, for example, is 65 in decimal and 01000001 in 8-bit binary.

This tool uses each character's Unicode code point, which matches ASCII for plain English text.

Frequently asked questions

Why 8 bits per character?
A byte is 8 bits, and classic ASCII fits every English letter, digit, and symbol in one byte.
Can I decode binary without spaces?
Add a space between each 8-bit byte so the decoder knows where each character starts.
What about emoji?
Emoji have code points above 255, so they use more than 8 bits — the decimal view shows the full code point.
